Common questions

How do I start a group and invite friends?

Create a group from the Groups tab, then share the invite link or the 8-character invite code with your friends. Anyone who opens the link on a device with DChoice installed lands straight in the group; anyone else can install the app and enter the code manually.

My friend tapped the invite link but nothing happened.

That usually means the app is not installed yet, or iOS opened the link in the browser. Install DChoice first, then open the app and enter the invite code shown on the invite page — it works the same as tapping the link.

How does voting work?

Anyone in the group can suggest a time or a place for an outing. Everyone else votes Yes, Maybe, or No, and tallies update live. When the group locks the outing, the top pick becomes the plan and everyone gets notified.

I'm not getting notifications.

Open the iOS Settings app, go to Notifications → DChoice, and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Also check that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing them. If notifications are allowed and still do not arrive, email us — it helps to know your iOS version and which notification you expected.

Place search or the map isn't showing nearby venues.

Nearby suggestions need approximate location. In iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → DChoice, choose While Using the App. You can still search for places by name with location turned off.

How do I change my name, photo, or home location?

Everything about your account lives in the Profile tab — display name, photo, home location, weekly availability, and notification preferences.

How do I leave a group or delete my account?

Open the group and choose Leave group to leave it. To remove your account entirely, use Profile → Delete account, or see Delete your account if you no longer have the app installed.

Report a problem or abuse

Groups are private to their members, but if someone in a group posts abusive or unlawful content, leave the group and report it to us. Tell us the group name and what you saw — we review every report and remove content or accounts that break our Terms of Service.

Privacy and your data
