DChoice Privacy Policy

Effective June 8, 2026

Overview

DChoice ("we", "us") is a mobile app that helps groups plan outings — proposing times and places, voting, and locking a plan. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account info. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) provides us your name and email address to create your account.
  • Group & outing content. Groups you create or join, members, outings, proposed times and places, votes, and RSVPs.
  • Approximate location. With your permission, we use your device's coarse location to suggest nearby places. You can deny or revoke this at any time in system settings.
  • Push notification token. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can notify you about plan updates and votes.
  • Basic technical data. Standard logs and crash diagnostics needed to operate and improve the app.

How we use information

To provide core features (groups, outings, voting), send relevant notifications, suggest nearby places, secure accounts, and keep the service reliable. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing & service providers

We share data with infrastructure providers that operate the service on our behalf — including Google Firebase (authentication, push messaging) and our hosting/maps providers — solely to deliver the features described above. Content you add to a group (such as votes and proposed outings) is visible to other members of that group.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. This removes your profile, group memberships, votes, RSVPs, availability, push tokens, and your sign-in identity. Groups you created that still have other members are transferred to another member; content you added to shared groups remains but is no longer linked to you. If you no longer have the app, you can request deletion by following these steps or by emailing us.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account the data above is removed promptly; limited records may persist briefly in encrypted backups before being overwritten, and we may retain minimal information where required by law.

Your choices

  • Revoke location or notification permissions in system settings.
  • Leave a group to stop sharing content with its members.
  • Delete your account and data from Profile → Delete account, or request access or deletion via the contact below.

Children

DChoice is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
